expert introduce

Qiu Yunqiao, M.D., Chief Physician, Professor, Master's Supervisor. He began his clinical surgical career in 1987 and has dedicated 38 years to minimally invasive urology. He has pursued advanced training at the Department of Urology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, the Department of Urology of Guangzhou First People's Hospital, and the Department of Urology of the Chinese PLA General Hospital (301 Hospital). He has independently performed over 10,000 minimally invasive surgeries. In the past five years, he has completed nearly 600 independent procedures of Grade IV or higher urological endoscopic surgeries with a 0% severe complication rate — a level of safety highly rare in international urology, given the volume of high-difficulty cases. He is the originator of the "Qiu's Acupoint" technique for one-minute relief of acute renal colic, with findings published in the SCI-indexed journal Frontiers in Medicine (IF 5.058). Professor Qiu previously worked for nearly 20 years at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. He currently serves as the Academic Leader of Urology at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Guangzhou Fosun Chancheng Hospital (Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital).

Areas of Expertise

Minimally Invasive Oncologic Surgery: For renal cancer, bladder cancer, and adrenal tumors, he employs precise techniques such as retroperitoneoscopic nephron-sparing surgery (NSS). In 2025, he successfully performed a partial nephrectomy for a 39-year-old patient with early-stage renal cancer, completely resecting the tumor while preserving the healthy kidney unit.

Minimally Invasive Treatment of Prostate Diseases: He performs transurethral plasma kinetic prostatectomy (TUPKP) and is particularly skilled in managing elderly, high-risk patients who have been rejected by multiple medical institutions. In 2024, he successfully performed surgery on a 90-year-old patient with benign prostatic hyperplasia complicated by hypertension and Parkinson's disease, breaking the age barrier.

Original Pain Relief Technique: The "Qiu's Acupoint" for acute renal colic — one acupoint, one finger, one minute of rapid pain relief. Non-pharmacological and non-invasive, it is suitable for patients who are allergic to or have contraindications for analgesic drugs.

Complex Voiding Dysfunctions and Urethral Foreign Bodies: Integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine diagnosis and treatment for chyluria, cystitis glandularis, and overactive bladder; successful management of multiple cases of complex urethral foreign bodies (e.g., removal of 13 magnetic steel beads).
