Data shows that stroke is the third leading cause of death in my country and the leading cause of disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), placing a significant burden on the nation's medical and health care system.
To further strengthen the hospital's stroke
center and improve the treatment capabilities of related clinical departments,
the hospital hosted a "Stroke Center Construction On-site Exchange
Meeting" in Conference Room 2, 10th Floor, Building 5, on the afternoon of
July 4th.

Wang Shengnan, Director of the Department
of Critical Care Medicine, Baiyun Branch of Nanfang Hospital; Dr. Lin Zhenzhou,
Associate Chief Physician of the Department of Neurology, Nanfang Hospital; Dr.
Wu Qiheng, Department of Neurology, Nanfang Hospital; Chen Wenming, Executive
Director of Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital; Liang Shuzhen, Vice Director of
Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital; Wang Aiping, Director of the Science and Education
Department; Huang Fang, Director of the Nursing Department; and department
heads and medical staff related to the stroke center attended the meeting.
Experts come in person and share
selflessly
President Chen Wenming was the first to
deliver a speech. He welcomed and thanked the experts from Nanfang Hospital for
coming. He said, "Stroke rescue requires timeliness. Our hospital
leadership also attaches great importance to the development of stroke centers.
As large comprehensive hospitals in Baiyun District, we hope that through this
exchange meeting, we can achieve the goal of connecting, helping each other,
making common progress, and promoting the homogenization of regional diagnosis
and treatment."

The Southern Hospital Stroke Center is a
nationally recognized advanced stroke center, with significant influence in
stroke prevention and treatment, as well as clinical research, in South China.
Dr. Wu Qiheng, from the Department of Neurology at Southern Hospital, presented
a lecture titled "Experiences in Developing Stroke Centers in Tertiary
Hospitals," sharing insights and experiences from the Southern Hospital
Stroke Center's development, including greenway management, thrombolysis and
thrombectomy standards, and secondary patient management.

Afterwards, Dr. Lin Zhenzhou, deputy chief
physician of the Department of Neurology at Southern Hospital, shared
"Early Identification and Treatment of Acute Cerebral Infarction". He
emphasized that popular science education within the hospital, greenway
construction, and the efficiency and quality of emergency care provided by
pre-hospital emergency personnel are all important factors affecting the
prognosis of stroke patients. He suggested that personnel in stroke-related
departments should be familiar with the risk factors, clinical manifestations,
and emergency procedures of stroke.

Theme Exchange Lively Discussion
Are there any changes in the key treatment
points and timing of thrombolysis for patients with critical illnesses such as
tumors and concurrent cerebral infarction? How should perioperative cerebral
infarction be standardized? How should an in-hospital cerebral infarction
greenway be established? Following the thematic exchange, the experts'
innovative information and cutting-edge knowledge sparked lively discussions.
Participants, drawing on their own specific departments, asked the experts
questions and sought their advice, and several experts from Nanfang Hospital
provided thorough and unreserved responses.

Sharing in person, working together for
improvement. This exchange meeting provided a platform for learning and improvement
for our stroke center. Experts also shared valuable knowledge and experience in
the development of our stroke center, pointing out future work goals and
directions. The hospital will address these opinions and address any
deficiencies, further improving the stroke center's diagnosis and treatment
capabilities and providing higher-quality medical services to the public.
