On March 9, 2025, the "China-Indonesia Medical Innovation Exchange Summit," co-hosted by the Jakarta Branch of the Indonesian Traditional Chinese Medicine Association and Fosun Health Greater Bay Area General Hospital, was successfully held in Jakarta. The event brought together dozens of authoritative medical experts, scholars, and industry representatives from China and Indonesia, who engaged in in-depth discussions on cutting-edge international topics such as precision oncology treatment, minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, and innovative therapies for neurological diseases. The summit aimed to actively respond to the national "Belt and Road" Initiative, establish an international medical collaboration platform, promote deeper integration in the medical fields between China and Indonesia, and contribute to building a global community of health for all.

In his opening remarks, Hu Hang, CEO of Fosun Health and President of the Greater Bay Area General Hospital, stated, "This event is not only a profound dialogue on medical technology between China and Indonesia but also a significant milestone in our bilateral medical cooperation. They noted that this exchange is an important practice of deepening cooperation in the healthcare field under the "Belt and Road" Initiative and holds significant meaning for the medical community in Indonesia. Moving forward, both sides will engage in in-depth collaboration in areas such as medical talent training, innovation technology transfer, and international remote consultations, aiming to enhance the diagnosis and treatment capabilities for major and complex diseases and provide better medical services for Indonesian patients.
During the subsequent thematic sharing sessions, senior experts from several hospitals under Fosun Health delivered insightful academic presentations for the attendees. Ye Gang, Chief Specialist of Oncology and Hematology at Foshan Chancheng Hospital, and Liu Rong, Executive Vice President of the Cancer Hospital, jointly presented an academic dialogue focusing on the latest advancements in cancer treatment. They provided a detailed introduction to the "China-U.S. Multidisciplinary Consultation" model at Foshan Chancheng Hospital's Oncology Center and the application of CAR-T cell therapy in lymphoma treatment. Additionally, Ye Gang highlighted the hospital's introduction of the CyberKnife technology, which has achieved a dual breakthrough in "precision radiotherapy + targeted immunotherapy," offering patients more precise radiotherapy options with fewer side effects.
Zhou Zicheng, Director of the Oncology Center at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Guangzhou Fosun Chancheng Hospital, elaborated on a series of innovative technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of advanced-stage tumors. These include inactivated tumor biotherapy, I125 particle implantation, photodynamic therapy (photosensitizer + laser technology), interventional regional perfusion chemotherapy, microwave ablation technology, interventional embolization of tumor arteries, targeted immunotherapy combined with dual-ligand conjugation technology, among others. These advancements bring new hope and rehabilitation opportunities for patients with advanced-stage tumors.
In the field of orthopedics, Chen Guangfu, Deputy Director of the Orthopedics Department at Foshan Chancheng Hospital, shared the latest progress in minimally invasive spine surgery. He noted that the hospital's spine surgery department keeps pace with cutting-edge orthopedic technologies both domestically and internationally, entering an era of "four-mirror collaboration" while leveraging orthopedic robotic technology to achieve surgical precision beyond human capabilities. The application of these technologies has significantly improved surgical success rates and patient recovery speeds, bringing new hope to the treatment of orthopedic diseases.
Additionally, Miao Guiqiang, Director of the Trauma (Hip) Orthopedics Department and Sports Medicine Department at Foshan Chancheng Hospital, shared new advancements in joint and sports medicine treatments. He highlighted the department's notable achievements in joint replacement technology, sports injury repair, and limb deformity correction. In particular, he emphasized the precise application of robotic-assisted surgery in joint replacements and the critical role of 3D printing technology in preoperative surgical planning.

Li Zhigang, Director of the Neurology Department at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Guangzhou Fosun Chancheng Hospital, shared the latest technologies in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases. He introduced innovative approaches for conditions such as Parkinson's disease, cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer's disease, including gut microbiota therapy, digital therapeutics, and surgical treatments, offering patients more options to alleviate their symptoms.
Tang Xilin, Director of the Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Ophthalmology Department at Shenzhen Hengsheng Hospital, focused on clinical insights into acupuncture and herbal medicine for treating challenging optic neuropathies. She discussed the etiology, diagnosis, and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine approaches for optic nerve diseases. She emphasized the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in treating optic nerve conditions and noted that integrated therapies can yield better rehabilitation outcomes for patients.
At the conclusion of the event, representatives from China and Indonesia took a group photo to commemorate this milestone moment in their exchange and cooperation.
