In order to improve the blood supply guarantee capacity of medical institutions in Baiyun District and actively support the social public welfare blood donation cause, on the morning of September 25, guided by the hospital's party branch, Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital (Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Guangzhou Fosun Chancheng Hospital) organized a voluntary blood donation activity. 120 party members, staff, clinical medical personnel, and enthusiastic citizens came together to donate blood, contributing 30,000 milliliters of warm blood in just 3 hours, making a practical effort to ensure the clinical medical blood supply in Baiyun District.
In this blood donation activity, the party members and cadres of the hospital took the lead in setting an example. Party branch secretary, Deputy Dean Zhou Huan, Director of the Nursing Department Huang Fang, and other party members and cadres took the initiative to get on the blood donation vehicle, using their blood to enhance the glory of the party emblem.

The party branch secretary took time out of his busy schedule to come to the site, not only participating in the blood donation, but also expressing respect to all the blood donation volunteers: "The hospital has a long-standing tradition of engaging in public welfare and volunteer service. This time, just one day after the blood donation notice was released, nearly 100 medical staff responded to the call, demonstrating the responsibility of healthcare workers."
At the event, we also saw many familiar faces in blood donation. Dr. Xia Qi from the Department of General Surgery and Nurse Li Panpan from the outpatient department are both Party members, with rich experience in blood donation. Dr. Xia Qi is known as the 'blood donation expert' in the hospital, having donated over 9000ml of whole blood and 14 units of platelets in the past 16 years. He was also awarded the 'National Voluntary Blood Donation Contribution Gold Award' for the 2020-2021 period. He stated, 'As a surgeon, I deeply understand the critical importance of blood for life, and blood donation must always take precedence.'

On that morning, in addition to senior medical party members at the scene, an increasing number of new blood donors from the 'post-90s' and 'post-00s' generations also actively joined the ranks of donors, contributing their strength through practical actions.Eighteen-year-old respiratory nurse Yang Xiangyu, upon seeing the hospital's WeChat group announce a call for blood donation, registered without hesitation.
In her view, everyone has their own way to celebrate adulthood, and she finds it more meaningful to commemorate it through voluntary blood donation.Similarly, nurse Peng Yubing from the outpatient department, also born in the 'post-00s', completed her "first donation" on the blood donation vehicle, stating, "This can also compensate for a belated coming-of-age ceremony for myself." Many other young people, after quietly donating blood, returned silently to their workstations...

During the event, many caring citizens came to the hospital entrance and were inspired by the enthusiasm of the medical staff, joining in to donate blood. Mr. Sun, 35, expressed after donating blood, "Being able to do something good for society through blood donation feels incredibly meaningful." Miss Chen, 29, who came to the hospital for a follow-up visit, insisted on donating blood before her appointment: "Only after experiencing it do I realize that there are many situations in clinical settings that require blood, and I am willing to donate blood to help more people."Vice Dean Zhou Huan explained that there are many benefits to regular blood donation.

Not only can it enhance the body's immune system and disease resistance, it stimulates the bone marrow to produce blood and promotes metabolism; it can also alleviate hyperviscosity, reducing blood viscosity, which has a positive significance in preventing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. He hopes that more enthusiastic citizens from all walks of life will take action and join the ranks of voluntary blood donors.
Blood coagulates love, and actions interpret dedication. As a model for voluntary blood donation in Baiyun District, the hospital has held at least two voluntary blood donation events each year since 2006, with a total accumulated blood donation exceeding 600,000 milliliters to date. In the future, the hospital will continue to stay on the front lines of medical care, contributing to ensuring the safety of people's lives and their health!
