newsEight years ago, Sara (pseudonym) from Mongolia was diagnosed with cancer. She traveled across four countries, underwent three major surgeries, and endured multiple rounds of chemotherapy—finally achieving remission. But recently, the nightmare returned: her cancer had metastasized.
Fortunately, thanks to the expert care at the International Minimally Invasive Tumor Center of Guangdong Pharmaceutical University Guangzhou Foshan Chan Cheng Hospital (Guangzhou Xinshi Hospital), Sara has now regained her health—comfortably.
Cancer Relapse: Seeking a Gentler Path to Recovery
After her initial battle with breast cancer, Sara had braved extensive surgeries and grueling chemotherapy abroad. But when scans in March revealed multiple metastases, she refused to relive the trauma of conventional treatments.
Upon a friend’s recommendation, Sara learned about the International Minimally Invasive Tumor Center—home to leading specialists in minimally invasive therapies, a patient-friendly environment, and dedicated translation/transport services. After thorough research, she embarked on a 2,500-kilometer journey to China for hope.
"One-Stop" Care: Easing the Journey for International Patients
As a first-time visitor to China, Sara faced language barriers and logistical challenges. The center’s team streamlined everything:
Pre-arrival coordination: Visa assistance, flight pickup, and hospitalization paperwork.
Tailored treatment: A minimally invasive regimen combining arterial perfusion therapy and radioactive particle implantation—far gentler than systemic chemotherapy.
Beyond medicine: During recovery, staff arranged trips to Baiyun Mountain and Canton Tower to uplift her spirits.
"The doctors and nurses made me feel safe. We didn’t worry about a single step—just healing," Sara shared.
Gratitude Beyond Borders: A Handwritten Letter in Two Languages
Before discharge, Sara and her family penned a heartfelt bilingual thank-you letter in Mongolian and Chinese—despite not knowing the language. They even took photos with Dr. Tan Minghua (Hospital Director) and the medical team to honor their compassion.
Sara’s message to fellow patients:"No matter how hard it seems, don’t give up. The right treatment is out there."
